Here we are down at edsviken, enjoying the first snow of the year (season). Next week we're off to Vemdalen for some skiiing action. The snow has departed in Stockholm now, but it's been sub zero for several days now and the lakes have all frozen over. Given another week or 2 there ought to be some top skating opportunities as well.
I've just bought a Roof box for the car so we can get all our shit in the car, now there's 3 of us...otherwise it was a choice between Matilda or skis, and its obvious which I would have had to chose ;-)

Here they are!
the girls together....Matilda is 3 days old here on the first full day that we came home from the hospital. Considering what both of them went through (long labour, vacuum extraction and various other stuff) I reckon that they both look pretty amazing.

First Kayaking of 2008
It was super hot last week, especially for Stockholm in May (27 degrees) so the only thing to do obviously was to go kayaking :-) You could argue that being as the baby was due on the same day, that this was not the best plan, but hey Sarah was sitting on the beach chilling (hence the photo obviously) and this lake isn't that far from the hospital anyway - it's fact it's nearer than home.
It was a fine time. The next day I tried to go swimming, but the water was only 12 degrees (apparently) "fucking cold" was how I personally quantified it, and I just couldn't hack it. Give it a couple of weeks though.
The temperature if back to 10 degrees now though, and hell maybe the baby will arrive soon anyway!

Åre Sunset
this was the view from our hotel room tonight at about 1700 as the sun set.
Half an hour earlier we were skidding round this lake for the audi ice track test drive.

My new kitchen in 3 weeks time
Here's an extract from the photo set that is my new house. We're moving on 29th February and we just can't wait. Chefck out the rest on flickr....
Roll on the move and Tom and Steve coming out to stay. The iron gamer 2008 is on......well kind of, as we will of course be missing the founding father, Simon :-)
That apart I still feel that I ought to give up the cup if I lose, and by god I know that Karen really wants Tom to display it in their house ;-)

A single day of snow
Heather came over for the weekend, and despite all the best predictions of the weather service, it snowed on saturday night (it's been so damn warm this year - annoyingly) so we rushed out on sunday and did some sledging. Fortunately to satisfy my snow urges we're driving to Åre tomorrow for a weeks "proper" skiing, although its still set to be warm (well about 0 degrees which is warm for this bloody time of year). That apart the snow report is good, there's 80cm on the slopes, so all should be good.
We're taking our new camera (the old ixus 4 finally gave up the ghost) so we'll try to upload some stuff as we go. Since Sarah's already quite big, she can't really ski, so we'll have the laptop with us for extra entertainment.
